quicktime plug-in for mozilla 1.6 on knoppix

I'm a new Linux user and i'm hoping someone can help me install mplayer and mplayer plug-in to mozilla.
I've seen some of the other threads, but I'm fairly new and need someone to walk me through the installation.
If there is anyone who can help me with this, i'd greatly appreciate the time and patience.

I installed knoppix to my hard drive so hopefully someone is familiar with this version.

Just set up your sources.list file to include Debian repositories. Knoppix by default has sources in Germany, so you may want to change the sources to something close to you. Then install it with:
Code:
apt-get update
apt-get install mozilla-mplayer
That should do it! The mplayer plug in works great with quicktime, but is sometimes very slow with windows media files.

Put this in your /etc/apt/sources.list ( It should already be there depending on the version of Knoppix you have).

Code:
## Various Multimedia Helper Apps Mplayer, Real, etc.. ##
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main
Then apt-get update and apt-get install mplayer-??? mozilla-mplayer w32codecs replace the ??? with the ARCH you want 386, 686, k7 ....

Sorry, happytux is correct. Mozilla-mplayer is in Debian unstable: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/...ozilla-mplayer but it depends on mplayer and you have to get that from the Marillat repository.
