Questions on Mepis Linux

I don't want to jump into pure Debian just yet, but I've heard that Mepis Linux is a pretty good linux based on Debian.

One question, what exactly is Mepis based on? Debian Woody / Sarge or SID?

oh, I know about the site, all right. But thanks.

Thanks for the information. I see what you're saying now.

I'm starting to be more proficient in Mandrake Linux. If I do make a test switch, I hope I won't get into too much trouble.

Once again, thanks.

Why don't you download the image and just play with it as a live cd for a bit. It'll be a bit slower than a HD install, but at least you'll find out how Warren made it work. You can save your settings as a file on the HD somewhere so you can boot without setting things up every time from scratch.

Mepis is great in my opinion. Still have to learn the coding of Debian but hey it beats the heck out of redhat 9.3 and my earlier version of SuSe.
