proxy problems and how to solve it. Help please


Hi everybody
i installed debian on my computer and i wish to install firewall and I did it as fallows bellow.
I checked many howtos but i am not able to find out what to do.

I have proxy in my network and I checked all parameters for it ...actualy i nstalled debian over network.

What I have to change in order to install packeges from
http://ftp.hr.debian.org/debian/pool...4.0-1_i386.deb 407

HeyHo,

add this to your /etc/apt/apt.conf:

Acquire::http::Proxy "http://$YourUsername:$YourPassword@$ProxyIP:$ProxyPort";

Hi,

You can use this command :

export http_proxy=http://username:password@192.168.99.1:3128
If it is OK,

add this line to /home/yourusername/.bashrc

for this:

cat >> /home/yourusername/.bashrc
Code:
export http_proxy=http://username:password@192.168.99.1:3128
Ctrl+d to exit this file
