I've got a copy Debian Sarge installed on one of my machines, with the following sources.list file:
However, when I try and install packages such as
mbmon and
free-java-sdk, I'm told that the packages don't exist, and apt-cache search <package name> doesn't return anything. I can't understand why these packages aren't showing up, because they're in the stable distribution so surely apt wouild be able to pick them up? I have run apt-get update a couple of times but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
I'm fairly new to Debian and have never really got the hang of apt so apologies if I've missed something obvious here.
