problem with totem-xine

hi

i have totem-xine which was working fine just till 5 minutes ago. then i was trying to open one online link for wmv file and when that file played totem-xine had only blue screen , though the bottom bar showed that file is playing. i never had problem playing wmv files before. after this i tried to play one saved avi file on my pc, again the same blank blue screen appeared on totem-xine. i tried to removing totem-xine and w32codecs with 'aptitude' command and also removing .xine directory from my home directory and reinstalling both totem-xine and w32codecs. but the problems persists.why totem-xine is having strange behavior suddenly.
is there a virus on my pc from that wmv file which is causing this. i have debian sarge kernel 2.4.27 on amd athlon xp-m laptop. i have nvidia graphics card, the driver for which i installed following the instructions in #debian
bot on irc.debian.org

w

Does it work with mpeg files (if not, see what it's using for video output)?

You could try the latest "all" codec pack from mpayers site:
Download http://www4.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/rel...060501.tar.bz2

#tar xvfj all-20060501.tar.bz2
#cd all-20060501
#mkdir /usr/lib/win32
#cp *.* /usr/lib/win32

...and see if that works.
