Problem with Promise FastTrak 4200 driver under Debian

Hi,

We set up a new server with Promise FastTrak tx4200 raid card, the details of the server are as the following:
Tyan Tiger i7320 + Intel Xeon 2.8G X 2 + kingston 512 DDR X 4
Promise FastTrak TX4200 + Segeat Sata 160G X 4

We plan to install Debian linux as the OS. But encountered the tx4200 driver problem.

The description of the problem is as the following:
The os version is Sarge with kernel 2.4**. We rebuild the kernel with smp and 4g memory support. We downloaded the latest source code from promise website, the version is 1.00.0.15. Then according to the readme file of the tx4200 linux source code package issued "make smp" command. The compilation is ok. Then issue "insmod ftsata2" command. loading is ok. But cat /proc/scsi/ftsata2/1 shows no array defined (Before the compilation, we have defined array in the bios). After issue "fdisk /deb/sda" the logic disk info is shown correctly, but then the whole system crash. If we set loading driver during booting, the booting will halt on initializing raid card.

We don't know which step is wrong. Can anyone give us some help or clue?
Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Jason
