That was a neat way to getting a listing of partitions.
Btw, it is a good idea to save a backup of that listing somewhere else in case your partition table gets overwritten some day. Have happened to me twice, first time I was using three different partition managers at the same time and I didn't have a backup.
Second time was a computer at school so I was a bit more prepared when a friend of mine explored the effects of "cat randomdsong.mp3 > /dev/sda". Took me a few minutes to restore the partition table and reformat the first partition which was a lot shorter then a total reinstall.
