problem whit sound and video

Hi, i buy a new box and decide to install debian sid on it.

I have install it, but i have some problems here. first its the mouse, the pointer of my mouse is an yellow square, an i think this is not correct it supposed to be an arrow or a hand?? but i still could use my mouse. I have installed the sis drivers because my video card is an sis650, i know that whit VESA drivers you don,t get this error, but i,m trying to fix it whit the sis ones. i try to change my mouse icon pointer but i don,t have any idea where they are or how to change it under linux.

my second problem is my sound. i use an sis soundcard that came in the kernel whit the intel850, i know is the correct option cause before whit the kernel 2.4.22 it have activate but whit the new kernel 2.6.1 there,s no way to activate it. not even putting as a module, or putting manually.

i have compile the kernel 3 times, this is the last error i get :

make xconfig
HOSTCC scripts/fixdep
In file included from /usr/include/sys/socket.h:35,
from /usr/include/netinet/in.h:24,
from scripts/fixdep.c:107:
/usr/include/bits/socket.h:305:24: asm/socket.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [scripts/fixdep] Error 1
make: *** [scripts/fixdep] Error 2

try it too whit menuconfig but the same error appears. and before it did compile fine, what happening?

i,m not very familiar whit debian, in fact i use slackware and mandrake, but i want to try debian in this new box.

Sounds like a driver problem...

Or an x.

Now, for that kernel thingie:

So you have 2.6.1 running? A precompiled one from debian?

Quote:
and before it did compile fine
You mean, the 2.4.22 did?

However, /usr/include/asm/socket.h can be found in package
libc6-dev (see Contents-i386.gz on your install media).
Is that one installed (dpkg -l | more will tell you)?
