Problem installing Debian

Dear All,

I downloaded the 8 iso's (7 3.0.1's + 1 update), and began the install. When it asked for CD #2, I put it in, it spun, and then stopped. I hit enter and the message asking for CD #2 came up again, the CD spun, and then stopped. I reburned the iso for CD 2 and retried the install, with the sma result. I am unsure if the CD image I downloaded is bad; it is the right size, at least. And it looks like the stuff it's supposed to have is there. Is there a way to install each CD separately later? It's up and running with the first disk.

Any suggestions?

- Ben

If you have a live internet connection, then you only need that first cd. Use http or ftp as an apt source for that. Maybe people have trouble getting their internet connections live on Debian because it doesn't hold your hand. Basically you have to find out what your NICard is, and find the module for it, and load it either during install, or in the tiny-bash that the first disk provides. But the first thing would be to check the md5sums of those images you downloaded.

Your okay, the screen will display the same MSG after reading each CD. (always saying something like, "If you have a 2nd CD .. blah, blah, blah.) Just insert the CD, when the MSG appears again, select "yes," and scan the next CD. Do all 7 CDs, then select "No."

P.S. You dont need the 8th CD. Its an upgrade CD used for 3.0r1

Thank you all for your help. For unrelated reasons I am returning to Slack.
