The package libmusicbrainz is old enough for Banshee to pop a message "dependencies were not met"!

I run Debian Sid/Sidux. Here is my sources.list as of 12-01-2007.
I have access to over 25,000 packages.
Make sure you do not have any non-us repositories listed as they were made obsolete when Sarge became stable. Adobe Flash and Sun's Java are in Debian's non-free. For more sources try searching http://www.apt-get.org
The AMD-64 repositories from Debian are now in the normal Sid repos.

I run Debian Sid/sidux, however this list covers Stable, Testing and Sid please use only the repos that apply to your release. Please do not mix releases unless you know what you are doing and use apt-pinning if you choose to do so. This list covers pretty much everything including the kitchen sink, only use repos that you trust and uses as few as you need, especially when doing an apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade. Also do not mix the use of aptitude and apt, pick one and stick with it.

I didn't know where to post without starting a new thread, I installed Debian etch amd64 from netinst and jsut recently upgraded my kernel (via backports) to 2.6.22 (Alsa didn't work with my soundcard in 2.6.18). Do I need to change my sources.list to Sid repositories? I'm asking this because I'm getting an error when I try to install anything in synaptic:

Code:
Package <packge name> has no available version, but exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list
It would be great if someone could give me a sources.list I could use with which I could get new packages and other neat stuff.

yet another source.list

Here's my source.list from our debian development server.

Code:
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org stable/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org etch/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org etch/updates main contrib non-free

deb http://www.backports.org/debian/ sarge-backports main

deb-src http://ftp.nz.debian.org/debian/ stable main non-free contrib
deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free

deb http://packages.dotdeb.org stable all
deb-src http://packages.dotdeb.org stable all

# Debian oracle repo
deb http://oss.oracle.com/debian/ unstable non-free

# Google software repository
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free
In case you get a 'GPG error:' after running 'apt-get update' :

#W: GPG error: http://non-us.debian.org stable/non-US Release:
#The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY F1D53D8C4F368D5D
###############

To fix error above do:
# gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv F1D53D8C4F368D5D
# gpg --export --armor F1D53D8C4F368D5D | apt-key add -

Code:
If it is on a keyserver do
	gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv KEY
Replace subkeys.pgp.net with another keyserver if that is not the right one.
Replace KEY with F1D53D8C4F368D5D or whatever key you want to retrieve. Once
you have successfully retrieved the key, do
gpg --export --armor KEY | apt-key add -
again replacing the KEY with the key ID. You have to be root to execute
apt-key.

If you downloaded the key via http from a web site, just
	apt-key add PATH_TO_DOWNLOADED_KEY

You should then be fine.

I installed debian etch today. My sources.list looks like

deb http://http.uk.debian.org/debian etch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://http.uk.debian.org/debian etch main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib

When I do the following:

#apt-get update

I get the following

Err http://security.debian.org etch/updates Release.gpg
Could not connect to security.debian.org:80 (130.89.175.54). - connect (113 No route to host) [IP: 130.89.175.54 80]
Err http://http.us.debian.org etch Release.gpg
Could not connect to http.us.debian.org:80 (35.9.37.225). - connect (113 No route to host) [IP: 35.9.37.225 80]
Ign http://security.debian.org etch/updates Release
20% [Connecting to http.us.debian.org (128.30.2.36)] [Connecting to security.debian.org (130.89.175.54)]

It stops without completing

Error "no route to host" look like internet problem or network interface misconfiguration to me.Do you have default gateway ?Can you go to internet ? Check ethernet cable, check route command and see if you have default route, also check ifconfig command to see ip address and netmask for your nerwork devices.
