Play DVD in Debian Sarge?

Sorry about the n00bish question (I'm still in the process of learning Debian after migrating from Fedora). So, how can I play DVDs in Debian? I've looked around and I've seen some conflicting information and I figured I might as well ask before messing up the system--do I need libdvdcss or something similar? I'm mostly interested in getting xine to work if that helps.

Here is my fstab:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda7 /tmp ext3 noexec 0 2
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrom1 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usb auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/backup ext3 defaults, 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults,devmode=0666 0 0

I think that cdrom0 is the DVD drive. Will I need to create a sym link to something?

Any help would be apreciated.

Go to the Ogle DVD Player Site and you'll find some downloads and instructions there. You'll need a few files (maybe already on your Debian box) to get full DVD viewing capabilities.

Looks almost like your DVD player is having a hard time reading the DVD. It can't get the block it wants, and then returns 0 bytes. Make sure all your associated DVD libraries are up to date, one last time as well.
Are you sure about which CD/DVD reader is which? (your fstab shows two CDROM drives). Try reading the DVD in the other drive from the one you just tried if you are not sure.
Question: Did you use the .deb for the libdvdcss?

Sorry for the quick repost, but I got DVD playback in Xine, so I'm happy--I like Xine. When I get the time I might try out ogle, but I don't feel like messing with it right now (unless someone spots something obvious in my last post).

Thanks!

Cool. As long as you can watch a DVD. Xine is pretty nice for that, not sure how much value Ogle can add there.
