Is it effecting my ALSA? because I still don't have sound. On Rhythm box I get prompted alsa "default" is already in use, and in XMMS just freezes when I press play. Though, Totem Player strangley plays w/o problem. Btw, my mixer IS unmuted. |
This is probably completely unrelated, but a long while ago when I first installed Mandrake 10.0 Community, I had a lot of trouble getting files to play in XMMS.
Through much searching on this site, I found a very short reference that basically pointed me to look at the command switch that was being used by the window manager when launching XMMS. In my case, even if I launched XMMS from a shell into my Xwindows, it picked up this variable from the window manager and caused my XMMS to hose or not play sound. I spent a few minutes trying to re-find the article that tipped me off but with no luck. Anyway, if you haven't looked there, maybe it'll help you. |
