Opacity compiz error
Well after messing with compiz Opacity I managed to make all panels and windows transparent. Only thing I see is desktop background and icons.
Tried ctrl+although+f1 and running gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz Then a reboot. Same issue. Next ran metacity --replace I get: Windows manager error: Unable to open X display Help me get back to default compiz Thanks |
Btw tried this suggestions from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1394729
When I run compiz --replace compiz (core) -Fatal: Couldn't open display Launching fallback windows manager exterminator CT error: Can't open display |
lol well after coffee and blood shot eyes I figured it out. I was able to use Alt+button 4 and click on home folder on desktop. and increase the folder view which was there but totally transparent. After increasing opacity on both top and bottom panels I found out rather quickly drop down menu's where transparent. Sooooo after opening up /home file browser so I can see it I cruised on over to /usr/share/applications and opened up CompizConfig Settings and zapped that check off of my Opacity/Sat./Britness and I'm back in business.
I know I'm probably venting and boasting to myself cause I actually figured it out. But hey thanks anyways LQ haha..... |
