One apt cache to rule them all...
Hi,
I have two computers in my apartment. My PC is running pure Debian Sid and my wife's computer is running Knoppix. Often times we need to update our PCs and just as often the same deb packages are downloaded onto each computer. Is there a way one of the PC's could check the other's /var/cache/apt/archives before downloading the deb file from the Internet? It would speed up updating and save bandwidth. Thanks, JT |
> apt-cache show apt--proxy ;-)
Description: Debian archive proxy and partial mirror builder apt-proxy automatically builds a Debian HTTP mirror based on requests which pass through the proxy. It's great for multiple Debian machines on the same network with a slower internet link. HTH |
