I'm not getting any sound on foxnews.com. I'm getting the video just fine, but no sound. They have a free video section that I was trying to view. The video comes through, but no sound. I can play CD's fine. Using Firefox 1.0.4.

I have found that happening sometimes. Need to clear our cach for browser, and reboot browser, and then it may work just fine. If not, then clear our everything, cookies, cache, and history, reboot browser and go to page and it will work. Has happened to me from time to time.

Cleared out everything and rebooted the machine and still no sound...
Sorry about that. Since you started with Debian, did you even have sound? If not, you may need to turn it on first. I have found that during different installs, the final configuration, is sometimes different with the default. Somtimes sound is on, and sometimes it is not. Need to check that as well.
