Unhappy Mono & Monodevelop how to install

I Have Debian 2.6 kernel

How do i install mono and monodevelop?

I have tried the apt way, the rpm -> deb way and the bin
way, but the closest i have been have bin is to start monodeveloper, but the gui builder is away
and i can only start it in root mode?
Any suggestions???

Many times in the process i have dependencies errors, i dont now how to continue.

What is the "bin" way?

If you want to install Mono, it's as easy as going (as root):
Code:
# apt-get install mono
That "mono" package is a meta package, and it will install everything you need to create and run mono projects (all except MonoDevelop).

If you want MonoDevelop, you will have to go to the MonoDevelop website, and check out what they have on the Downloads section (I tried going there right now, but the site's down).

If you run Debian testing, I suggest you choose the svn build or build from source. Download to your home directory and configure/make per the README. You'll have the most up to date. There are dependencies that change, and I have had the .deb package break in testing, but the svn compiles after a reconfigure.

The way I install monodevelop is quite easy, actually. I am running testing so that means no monodevelop for me - but if I add the sid repositories, I can simply add it from there. Doing some from Synaptic has the advantage that you can always see right away what would be updated if you do (not much as far as I remember). Of course, you'd make sure to disable the sid repos again after installing monodevelop or you'll be running all sid before you know. And it's still sid so there's no guarantee that it will be perfectly reliable.

sudo apt-get install libgtksourceview-dev
wget http://go-mono.com/sources/gtksource....0-0.10.tar.gz
tar zxf gtksourceview-sharp-2.0-0.10.tar.gz
cd gtksourceview-sharp-2.0-0.10

Funny you should mention that; just this morning I went "apt-get install monodevelop" in Debian Testing, and MonoDevelop is now in the repositories.
