missing fonts after fontconfig upgrade
Hey everyone. I installed Sarge on my P4 machine and everything related to my fonts worked correctly. I was able to see japanese, chinese, korean, etc. characters. Then, about a week ago I did an apt-get upgrade and there was an updated fontconfig package. After I installed this, I was no longer able to see all the fonts I was able to see before. Even some accented characters in the latin alphabet stopped working correctly anymore. I tried putting the dirs from my old local.conf into the new one and this only fixed a few accented chars. I also tried installing some xfonts packages for european and asian and doing a defoma-reconfigure and that didn't work either. I don't understand why the fonts just stopped working after upgrading font config. Some of the the font-related packages I have installed are:
ii defoma 0.11.8-0.1 Debian Font Manager -- automatic font config
ii fontconfig 2.3.1-2 generic font configuration library
ii libfontconfig1 2.3.1-2 generic font configuration library (shared l
ii libfreetype6 2.1.7-2.3 FreeType 2 font engine, shared library files

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
