Minimal Debian with read-only root filesystem

Hi

I'm looking for a manual to install a really minimal Debian with read-only root filesystem.
I'd like to install minimal Squeeze with LXDE on a thin client with 2GB CompactFlash (CF) and 1GB RAM.

How do you want to implement the read only part, by some mechanical lock or remove write line?

Normally you protect the OS by file based permissions. A thin client that has it's local OS is more likely to be hacked than a pxe/gpxe loaded OS.

The best source I would use is LFS and just switch names and such to match debian.

Thx, but I've found now these manuals:

http://chschneider.eu/linux/thin_client/
http://chrisjrob.com/2011/03/13/inst...hin-client-pc/

and it seems to be, what I need.
