Microphone not giving any input on Lenny 64 bit

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I tried to use a skype call today, and to my surprise it didnt work at all.
I can hear other people no problem, but no one can hear me.

I tried enabling the mic in alsa, tried restarting alsa completely with alsaconf, and checked under "sounds" in system. It lists the mic as there, but it doesnt recieve any input, even under "sounds"

here are the results of my lspci scan:

What's the interface for audio?
Is the mic muted?
Is it an actual mic interface or some auxiliary interface you have the mic connected to?
Is the mic connected to the same soundcard as the headphones?
Have you tried any other SIP type of application and what are the results for that?

in order:

alsa
no
mic interface
ithink its all on the same soundcard
no

again, i dont even get mic feedback when just testing the mic, without any type of application, so im thinking maybe a driver issue?

Have you tried different mics?
There are also other things to think about such as esound and gnome-audio drivers.
Try rebuilding and reloading alsa source and alsaconf.
