Mic Doesnt Work
 

My mic doesnt work on anything. What should I do?

It might be a simple matter of unmuting, the right sound channels (is that the right term?) Open up alsamixer and play with the settings.

I'm assuming your sound is working and you use ALSA, your post doesn't exactly have much info to go on...

Yeah my sound works, and i have ALSA. I will play around with it right now.

Well, nothing is muted. But when I uses Sound Recorder and hit record it gives me this error .

Failed to create GStreamer encoder elements - check your encoding setup

Did you select the right input method / source?

Well all i did is plug it in....i played with the settings in the mixer and still nothing......Anything else?
