Memory usage constantly increasing
Dell Inspiron 6400 + Debian GNU/Linux -SID.

If I boot, and simply leave the laptop idle.. (except for the `free` commands I issue every now and then) I can see the memory used is constantly rising. Yesterday it had ran for something of about 10 hours (more or less), and nearly 1 GB of memory was reported as being 'used'. This happens regardless of X being up or not.

A couple of things perhaps worth mentioning: I'm using fglrx-drivers and /usr/sbin/atieventsd is constantly running; I also run NTP and thus /usr/sbin/ntpd is always running.

It could be nothing. When you run free, is the memory actually being used or is it just cached? Also take a look here for more info on Linux memory management.
