Media players for Linux

I am using the Debian (testing version). Recently I decided to play DVD movies, audio files on my debian linux.

What is the apt-get install ??? to download the media player(just like windows media player) which will play my DVD movies, MPEG, WMA, MP3 etc.

IS there any real player for Linux?

Totem-xine, Kaffeine and some others.

mplayer, xine, and vlc are some good choices.

Go to this site and follow the directions to add the Marillat repo to your apt sources.list to get extra media codecs and other media goodies:

XMMS freezes very very often and i configured noatun the way i like but in the end noatun freezes too. May be cause i make it start all the vizualizations on startup and the Kjofol skin instead the defaults, i reinstalled the kdemultimedia pack, i've deleted $HOME/.kde/share/apps/noatun and than i start it again but it is all the same --- Noatun freezes and i must kill it to terminate.

Now i am using JuK successfully
