Maxxter wifi adapter on Raspbian wheezy

Hi,

I purchased a Rasberry 2 Model 2, with Raspbian Wheezy. I also bought a cheap Maxxter USB adapter (ACT-WNP-UA-005, chipset rtl8192EU)[*], but it does not get detected. I tried downloading the driver, but I still do not manage to get this working. Below is a PARTIAL list of stuff that I tried.
Is it possible to get this working, or should I just look for another one?

pi@raspberrypi ~/Downloads/rtl8192EU_linux_v4.2.2_7585.20130524 $ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.18.7-v7+ #755 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 12 17:20:48 GMT 2015 armv7
pi@raspberrypi ~/Downloads/rtl8192EU_linux_v4.2.2_7585.20130524 $ ls
clean hal include Makefile runwpa
core ifcfg-wlan0 Kconfig os_dep wlan0dhcp
pi@raspberrypi ~/Downloads/rtl8192EU_linux_v4.2.2_7585.20130524 $ make
make ARCH=armv7l CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/modules/3.18.7-v7+/build M=/home/pi/Downloads/rtl8192EU_linux_v4.2.2_7585.20130524 modules
make[1]: Entering directory '/lib/modules/3.18.7-v7+/build'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'modules'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory '/lib/modules/3.18.7-v7+/build'
Makefile:1043: recipe for target 'modules' failed
make: *** [modules] Error 2

Thanks!

The elinux.org site says that rtl8192 is pre-installed. You shouldn't need to build the driver.

Then follow the web site instructions

Hi --thanks. I will try it once more tomorrow. When I tried adding it via the GUI the wlan card was not detected (so I could not enter my ssid, etc.). Also no LED light on the adapter, no sign of life. Later I tried again with a an Icudu adapter that I normally use for my WD mediacenter and everything worked as expected.

Best wishes,
Albert-Jan
