If the directory /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins exists, this command will create a symbolic link called "firefox" in that directory, pointing to /usr/lib/firefox.
If that directory does not exist, a link to /usr/lib/firefox will be created in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox named "plugins".
What is it exactly that you want to do here? Create a link in where to where?
I think the goal is to get the library files in the firefox directory be linked into the system library directory, since Firefox won't work without the libraries, and the firefox directory itself is not (by default) checked for the library files.
If you download Firefox from Mozilla, you'll get an archived directory with the executables and library files etc. On some systems where FF is already installed it runs straight "out of the box", but usually one needs to either copy or link all the lib files from that directory to /usr/lib/something, or add that directory to the library path.
I have flash-player in my old /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and I'm trying to link the old on to the new /usr/lib/firefox2, But it isn't linking.Wondering if I should start over by deleting old plugins and install new ones?
