Mail Server Using Postfix, Roundcube, Vimbadmin, and MySQL, reporting scripts
Hello,
i have Mail server (debian) using Postfix, roundcube, vimbadmin and MySQL. what i want to do is to create a script report that gives:
1- the Mailbox Size, which i think i will use du -sh to find the size but also i want the qouta for each user and what is the space the the user still have.
2- the Amount of unread/read emails for each user. which i do not have any idea about how i can do it.
3- Last logon/access (if possible also by protocol POP3 or HTTP)
You won't know the number of unread messages unless you open the user's mailbox. But that's a breach of confidentiality, you're actually reading some other peoples email! Unless you're prepared to do battle with your users, including those who are in charge of your pay-check, don't go there... As for access times, look in /var/log. Again, you are on the cutting edge of legality here, and probably on the wrong side of it...
aha what i am searching for if there is a flag for example in the database or any where else that i can use it to know if the message is read or not, without even knowing the content of the message, from where,..etc. i do not want to get in privacy and confidentiality problems.
what i am thinking about access time is to build a script that monitor the users access when they access there email for example i will write in other file the time and if possible to get what protocol.
