Mac PowerBook G4 titanium
Hey guys, could anyone point me to a ISO file for a Mac G4 PowerBook titanium. I've wasted about fifteen CDs and 6 days trying to figure this out the old macs don't seem to deal with Linux. There seems to be something weird with the pre Intel macs. There is a lot of documentation online but none of them work. I even tried Ubuntu and mint but I'm always left on reboot with a blank screen. Any ideas? Which Debian? Thank you.

You need a ppa iso. Built for these old Macs. Since specs are low. Plus you seem lost.

I can't answer for macs though. I never owned one. Isos are here http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/netboot/trusty/ As you run the net install hooked up to landline. Install fluxbox window manager. Synaptic. Lightdm. smtube. restricted extras. flashplayer. seamonkey browser. midnight commander. rox terminal and urxvt. gdebi. mousepad. geany. spacefm. audacious music player. mpv for movies. Dillo browser. My suggestions are light because your laptop is low powered.. Or if you do not want to deal with a net install of ubuntu. Use PPC version of Lubuntu. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/re...14.04/release/ Quote:
If wanting debian instead https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/inst/install |
I tried everything but it won't install. The last thing I did was install Debian for Ppc for Mac PowerBook and the installation went in but I noticed a FAILED piece of code on reboot. That said ' failed to start load kernel modules.
I have no idea what this is Is there a 32 bit disk repair for Mac PowerBook G4? I would love to put Debian on this thing. It's driving me nuts. |
There is a Debian install for power Mac G4 that installs wheezy. It's Called mini. It actually works although it could not install the gnome desktop. But it does work. Thank god for that.
