log of access to directories

Friends,

Does Debian 6.0.6 (Squeeze) keep a log of director(ies) access, with particular concern to those directories in my /home/<user>/ folder?

Also, does Chrome 24.0.1312.56 in said Debian keep a log of when the History has been accessed?

Also, does Thunderbird 17.0.2 in said Debian keep a log of when the program has been run?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

It's not a Debian-specific problem: no out of the box installed main stream Linux distribution comes with that kind of audit trail enabled. Unless you set atime-related mount options then file system access time changes. See 'man 2 stat' for which actions affect atime.

That's not a Debian or application-specific either ;-p Its history is a SQLite database located at ~/.config/google-chrome/Default/History*, see atime above.

Same as above plus I doubt BSD process accounting keeps tabs on execve time stamps.

What is the problem you're trying to solve?
