Local network/domain setup ?
This is probably an easy question but I have no idea where to look (what to search for).
I've got a network (router with DHCP) and a few systems (my systems run Debian and those of the other members of the household mostly run Windows).
now I want to setup a local domain for the Debian systems (like on a corporate network where person X can email person Y and share files on a remote network drive).
can somebody point me to a HOWTO or manual on this ? (I'm sure it's well documented somewhere but I just don't know what to look for).
so here is what I "want"
- all systems on the network (the Debian ones) use the same domain. someting like debianlocal.net
- possibility to send emails to other systems without needing to go through the internet (I think this is local delivery or something ?).
- Remote drive where all systems can read/write files
- is possible the ability to email people at debianlocal.net from an outside source (internet) but since my ISP offers a dynamic IP I don't know if this is possible (maybe with something like no-ip).
I guess I need a "dedicated" system for this that needs to be running 24/7 to keep this domain active ? (I've got an old system that I could use for that).
