live-helper, lh_config, lh_build questions and help needed!

OK
so, I wanted to make a debian-live fluxbox edition from my running debian squeeze install
I installed into a 6gb partition, thinking this was enough
sad
well, each time i run
Code:
lh_config --bootstrap copy --debian-installer live --cache disabled --cache-packages disabled --debian-installer-distribution squeeze --hostname squeezebox --includes /home/guest --username guest
and then lh_build it takes up all space in there
myinstall is 1.8gb total
I tried slimming it down by using the options above

I was hoping i could use another mounted partition as the output disrectory
but there doesn't seem to be an option for this??

so, what do I do?

1) Can I somehow clone/copy my install to a larger partition?
HOW?
dd, cp, or what?

2) is there a way to have lh_build use a different partition??

i'm stuck!
thanks

im not sure yet, its late at night:
the commmand builds the iso whereever you run it.
mount a partition (3 x the size) go there, mkdir a working directory (say: LIVE) and run the commands
(you might also clean the system up before: apt-get clean, remove kernels (if possible all of them ), aptitude purge ~c deborphan... and so on ). clean up tmp. If you know how umount swap, do that too( i dont know).

I think you should be fine if you run it on another partition.
as said: im tired...
i ran into that trouble quit often: that sucks. so much work, you wait and wait and then: no more space! arghhh.
when im awake again i will have a second thought...
greetings

edit: on cloning an install to another partition most people recommend/seem to recommend clonezilla, but its beyond me :-)

well
what should I do here?

my 9th and 10th partitions are my remastering partitions
my debian I wanna remaster is on sda9

Can I delete sda10 and grow sda9 and thereby triple my hd space?

so, if I move my deb install from sda9 to wherever(temporarily)
delete sda10, grow sda9, then move my install back to now-bigger sda9
will it boot if I adjust the menu.lst and fstab, etc??

well, im not much of a partitioner and have screwed it more than once. So take the following that way.
Can you not simply boot a live-cd, run gparted, delete sda10 and grow sda9 afterwards? Thats how i would try it, as i wouldnt need to copy the whole stuff and i wouldnt need to edit menu.lst.
But its as i just said...: berserk. So better wait if someone knows for sure.

btw: all that vbox, qemu and live-helper stuff makes me spare on space too ( with 160 GB and no videos, only bit of music... i definetly need a bigger hd next month :-) )

greetings
and dont forget telling if you got it working (fluxbox allways makes me happy).

I just thought I had found the ultimate solution j1alu!

bootcd-backup and/or bootcd

however, I can't get either to work!!!

nice programs though

I'm goonna try to grow sda9 using gparted
just hope it doesn't mess up my beautiful fluxbox desktop

ive read about bootcd (in synaptic), but no one ever mentions it.
as im not much of a man-page or docu reader...:-)
if you know how it works let me know.
greetings and, as said, good luck

oh yeah
I probably will have to edit menu.lst for sda9, as the UUID number is gonna change and my fstab will change
yes?

OK
success with deleting sda10, and then moving sda9 to the left(never tried this before)

I thought something might change to affect bootability
but good ol debian squeeze
she booted right up and am doing
lh_build now

og, it just finished making the 600mb cd
gonna put it on usb and see if it runs?
