library path

I just installed libgtop2-5 from a .deb file. When I try to cofigure gdesklets, it still gives me the following message:

checking for pygtk-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libgtop-2.0 >= 2.8.0... Package libgtop-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libgtop-2.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'libgtop-2.0' found
configure: error: Library requirements (pygtk-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libgtop-2.0 >= 2.8.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

I think the problem is the library files are under /usr/local/lib
instead of /usr/lib

Please let me know how i can fix this, Thanks

Ah...easy fix...

Edit /etc/ and add the following line:

Then run the following command:

$ ldconfig

That should do the trick for you.
