libc6 on Debian

here is my problem:
I want to run an application and that what i get:
/lib/ version `GLIBC_2.3' not found (required by ...

ceco:~# dpkg -l libc6

ceco:~# apt-get install libc6

ceco:~# gcc --version

So i cannot install libc 2.3. I tried manually :
ceco:~# dpkg -i libdb1-compat_2.1.3-7_i386.deb

Check that your /etc/apt/sources.list contains also the testing distribution and
apt-get update
apt-get install -t testing libc6

You have libc6 2.2.5 installed but need 2.3

Try a apt-get install -t testing libc6
