knoppix won't keep my sound config!

I have installed Knoppix linux on my computer and it's great but there's just one VERY annoying bug - Everytime the system boots up I have to setup my soundcard to make it play sound. How can I work around this so that the sound config stays and not have to do the alsaconfig thing over and over again?

Hey!
I got the same problem but with fedora core 6 whenerver I don't log as root. Any help?

err... hello?
No idea what to do about this? Knoppix is great but I'm soo sick and tired of having to set up my sound card over and over again!

You have to set up modules etc. or only mixer volume levels?
