Knoppix and Debian DVD
I used a DVD issued with UK linux-magazine to boot and install knoppix on my computer however I have been having problems with trying to use the DVD to install or mend some broken KDE items.
Have used 'apt-cdrom add' but apt doesn't recognise the directory structure.
Does anyone know how I can get it to work?
TIA
Dick
To install knoppix on a hd you write " knx-hdinstall " as root in a shell, there is no password for root just write su or root and hit enter. The installer is great and frendly .

How slow of a computer are you using it on? It runs flawlessly on my work computer. (PIII 550mhz, 512MB ram and a 32xCd-Rom) the only thing I noticed was slower load times with a slower cd-rom.
I think Knoppix is what made me switch from windoze to linux. I have yet to see a windows os that runs entirly from a cd.
