Question Knoppix 7.2 LXDE - Window Borders missing ?

Hey, Im using an old Dell D430 as a spare laptop around the house and I have installed on it, Knoppix 7.2 with LXDE (the defaults of the installation). However, the window borders/controls seem to be missing.

Preliminary googling seems to indicate that it might be a problem with compiz, however, I cant get compiz to open on my system so it doesnt go any further. Does anybody have any idea of what avenues to pursue ?

Thanks for your time.

Why don't you replace compiz with openbox, which is the default window manager in lxde?

Ive install openbox and indeed it does replace and give me window borders but they end when I close the terminal window.

Ive done some googling into why compiz wont load and found this:

Code:
knoppix@Microknoppix:~$ ccsm
Info: No sexy-python package found, don't worry it's optional.
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/ccsm", line 99, in <module>
    import compizconfig
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/compizconfig.so: undefined symbol: ccsDefaultInterfaceTable
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1076287

Ive tried googling but I still have no idea what they mean by rebuilding compizconfig-python :-/

I found that if you go into someplace you can restart compiz they have it in one of the menus settings or knoppix menu and it will restart and you will have window borders/controls again. Personally I think knoppix has gone down hill I would opt for siduction Its one of the better ofshoots of knoppix more stable
