First of all thank you very much for your reply! Yes I post it twice, as microsoft/linux said not clutter the list up. I started a new thread here. Sorry about that.

Well I'm not sure do I have firewallruning or not I will try to check it If I get the firewall runing how shoul I alter it?.

What I mean is I totallly could not run apt-get install/remove XXXX. Even if I run "apt-get dist-update" I got the following message.

#########
dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 20331 package `bind9-host':
EOF during value of field `Description' (missing final newline)
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
#############

if you read the official knoppix wiki page, you will clearly see that install knoppix on hard disk is strongly not recommended and therefore you will get little or no support at all..
knoppix is targetted to be a live CD.. and when you install on HD you get unexplainable problems like that one.
I, however hope you will find a solution to your problem..
sincerely.

I agree you shouldn't install knoppix the HD if you want to use apt because installing many packages will break your system. I personally install Debian pure, but others have had success installing Kanotix.

Now for your problem. I get that same error in Debian if I forget to run apt-get as root user...
