keyboard response


Hi people,
I have a small problem of my keybrd not responding sometimes.I press the down arrow now and it takes a few seconds to move.my swap is initialized and I have plenty of ram.then why does my kbd go to sleep?

I had similar problem once.
There have been some problems with hdparm defaults causing system to stall when harddisk is accessed. You might want to check (with hdparm, in package hdparm) that 32bit io, dma transfers and unmasqueraded irqs are enabled, if it helps.
That is:
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
