Kernel Compile error -- SOLVED --

Hi folks,

I tried to install and compile a new kernel 2.6.13 but I'm getting the following error:

--snip
SYSMAP .tmp_System.map
Inconsistent kallsyms data
Try setting CONFIG_KALLSYMS_EXTRA_PASS
make[1]: *** [vmlinux] Fehler 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.12.3'
make: *** [stamp-build] Fehler 2

--snip

I haven't got the foggiest where to look and how to correct the problem.
Can anybody help??

Thanks in advanced

edit the config file (/usr/src/linux-2.6.12.3/.config), and add this to the file:

CONFIG_KALLSYMS_EXTRA_PASS=y

Then try to recompile the kernel.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
It worked.
Wired things is I used the original .config file from the Debian installation cause I thought I would work without problems. Never mind.
