kdm is not working


after instlling kdm and the reboot it's not working (after giving the password, it's come back to login screen). But i can use the gdm on tty8 .
Now i want to make gdm, default. how it's possible?

What do you have for ls /etc/init.d/*dm

I just solve this by removing and installing agin kdm (bad process).
Any body please tell me the good process

No point in having more than one installed IMHO.
The default goes in /etc/X11/default-display-manager
