kde4,sid and badname
Installed kde4 the other day and things went south real bad.
First kdm didn't work (still doesn't but that what gdm is for).
Then kde didn't start - finally found a script from sidux (smxi) that fixed kde and installed an sidux kernel because 2.29.x debian wouldn't play nice with the nvidia driver.
Ok - that was that and kde worked.
BUT all gtk apps failed with the cryptic error message:
The program 'firefox-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadName (named color or font does not exist)'.
(Details: serial 899 error_code 15 request_code 45 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
The only way to get them to work is restarting xfs - anybody got any idea what is going on there?
