KDE automount failing to moutn drives
im using debian testing with kde 3.5.3 and when i insert a usbdrive, the kde daemon pops up asking what i want to do and i choose open in new window. an error comes up saying it could not mount the device and mount cant find the entry in the ftsab or mtab.
I have udev, hal and dbus installed and running and i have put the user into the plugdev group and it still doesnt auto mount. Any ideas? |
After a bit of messing around I found out HAL, DBus, Udev AND pmount are required for it to mount automatically.
After doing an apt-cache search gnome-volume-manager and seeing it would also install pmount, I installed pmount and it now works. all the sites I looked at for help said only HAL, DBus and Udev were needed |
