Is it time to install wheezy ?

I'm running "ubuntu 12.04" in my PC,but I don't like it.

The "squeeze" is too old.

"Testing is now frozen"
Is it time to install wheezy?

BTW，I can't find "fglrx-driver" in wheezy：http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/fglrx-driver why?

When a Debian release is in Testing, it is in it's final stage prior to release as Stable. Unless your using computer for production purposes I don't see why you can't just jump in and give it a whirl.

Since the fglrx-driver is proprietary you should find it in the non-free repository. To be sure you can find information at

No it is not time to install wheezy unless you want to report bugs. Last I knew you couldn't even upgrade from the current Stable to Testing because too many things are broken.

The entire point of the freeze is to fix all of the grave/severe/rc bugs, so Testing can be released.

fglrx-driver is not available, see #671320

Install Stable and wait for the release some time hopefully around Feb of 2013.

I'd say try it.
I've recently installed Wheezy on an old Dell for a friend,and it's now running well without problems.

What's broken?,perhaps I miss these problems due to running a mixed Testing/Unstable system.
As far as I was aware part of the criteria for a package entering Testing from Unstable is that it does not break existing packages on the system?:

FWIW, I didn't have issues upgrading from squeeze -> wheezy/sid. (Then again, that's on a workstation that it's OK for me to bork. Keep that sort of thing in mind when making decisions based on anecdotes from strangers.)

You can make an informed decision for yourself.

While Testing a RC might (could but shouldn't) have some serious bugs involved, that's what Testing is for. It is desired that this experimental release be installed, used, and bugs reported. So if your not running a production machine and can tolerate reporting bugs while trying the release out, install it. If you can not tolerate such, keep with the current stable release.

I say go with LMDE. Seemed to be rock solid when I was using it.

I only occured problems upgrading from squeeze to wheezy when it had desktop already installed, but if I only upgraded frombase package there was no problem.

I upgraded a Aqueeze to Wheezy last week and all was fine.

Good for you. I have a radeon HD 2400 Pro card and have had all xorg/xserver packages pinned here for a month. Keep trying it out on other Wheezy install and break every ono of them on this hardware.

Sid works on the FOSS drivers. Testing dies. Will come eventually.

Particularly if I get a card that is worth something. Getting a new one and going to make real sure it works with drivers other than fglrx.
