I have upgraded from stable to testing and all seems to have gone OK.
However, I find that if I connect a camera via usb or put an audio CD in the cdrom, nothing happens - i.e. I thought I might get an icon on the desktop acknowledging the mount(s), or some relevant software might open ...
Is this supposed to happen or do I need to add something to fstab or whatever.? (bit of a newbie just in case you hadn't figured it out yet).
samael. Thanks for your info. I was afraid of that - I seem to remember before I removed unstable, I had icons showing up on the desktop. But I had so many problems with unstable I went back to stable and then testing - which is where I am now. I am also using Gnome. Which version are you using? Also - do you have anything special in your fstab? This is mine:
Thanks for your help . Got it sorted now. I had actually had a look at the properties (via the menus) but had missed that the cd player section pointed to the wrong command. Once I changed that to a cd player it worked fine. Now, when I put a cd in it starts to play automatically.
