internet connection not starting at boot

I am using Debian. Could anyone tell me how to get my internet connection to start at boot? The only way I can get my connection to start is to use the adsl ppoe configuration utility.

Usually running "pppoeconf" (Debian's adsl/pppoe config utility) just once makes the net connection start automatically at boot. Can you start your net connection with "pon dsl-provider"? What interfaces (lo/eth0/ppp0) does "ifconfig" show?

dsl at boot

u dont say wc version of debian u use. For sarge or etch u need to edit /etc/network/interfaces so that ur connexn is up on boot. Try this
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto ppp0
iface ppp0 inet ppp
provider dsl-provider
#please do not modify the following line
pre-up /sbin/ifconfig eth0 # line maintained by pppoeconf
Save the file and ur good to go. Enjoy debian.
