Interesting Custom Keyboard Shortcut
I want to access the applications menu from the keyboard. However, the applications menu keyboard shortcut seems to be missing from "keyboard shortcuts" in System Settings. No, I can't access the applications menu with Alt+F1.
I want to make a custom shortcut to replace the one that is missing, but my problem is I don't know what command or program I need for my shortcut. Thanks |
What desktop environment are you running? What Debian release?
alt+F1 works just fine in KDE4. Take the time to READ: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way - http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
Oops, sorry...
The Gnome package is version 1:3.0+7 Gnome-shell is version 3.2.2.1-1 Gnome-session-fallback is version 3.2.1-1 Gnome-session is version 3.2.1-1 I'm using fallback mode for Gnome 3. installed from Debian 6.0.4 is now at "Linux 3.2.0-1-686-pae" based on uname and uname -r. |
I have my problem solved. I first worked with this URL: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/27038...u-linux-10.04/ as I correctly thought it might be applicable to my system, had it work, and then found my shortcut in the keyboard shortcuts - the window is marked keyboard, and the tab is marked shortcuts. The applications menu shortcut, that was assigned "Super_L," was under System and marked "Show the activities overview." I reassigned the shortcut to "Alt+F1."
