intel driver for 82G33/G31 in squeeze does not support 3d rendering

according to http://free3d.org/
glx server only supported in 2.6-32-21-generic

so to get 3d rendering support i need to compile a that kernel version in squeeze or install from sid/experimental?

please suggest me the best course of action.

Well according to Google, the 82G33/G31 is a graphics controller, *not* a video card. So really, do you even have a video card? If you just have an old integrated one, that may be your problem. Install a discrete video card (presumably an ATI one), that may be your best course of action.

I see. Since 'lspci | grep VGA' gave me that output so I assume that is my integrated video card. Never know graphic controller & video card are two different thing.

Because they aren't. The G31/G33 are integrated video chips of Intel's 3-series and are just fine for working with Linux. They should run out of the box with Squeeze, so I would assume that there is a different problem. Please post the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

@Kenny: The 3-series from Intel is the successor-series of the 9XXG-series, like the 945G in your netbook.
