Installing package: "dpkg: command not found"

I'm trying to build php4 package with "--with-sybase-ct" option. But this message occured during the process:

Code:
dpkg: command not found
I've tried to reinstall dpkg but the message still occures.

How do I fix this problem?

Can you give us more details? Like the exact error message, the commands you've given, etc etc.
