Installing Nvidia drivers for sarge on 2.6.5

I have the 2.6.5 kernel and debian sarge testing. I can't seem to find an easy way to install the nvidia drivers 5336. I tried it using their installer, but it says I need to give it the path to the kernel with --kernel-source-path, but I am not sure where the kernel is held.

I also would try apt-get install nvidia-kernel-source, but there is no package for it yet. How do I install these?

Thanks

I have written some instructions for how to install them:

Thanks, I was missing the headers, the drivers are installed now though.

Although, I still can not get above 60 Hz, I know I can too because I have with other distros. What do i have to add or change in the x86config file to get above 60hz?

Look up the specs for your monitor, the vertical refresh and horizontal sync value intervals are mentioned there. Then update the values in your X configuration by any means you find convenient.

Thanks.
I just made it 30.0-95.0 and 50.0-160.0. Ill see if that helps.

Do I comment out dri and GLcore ?

and does anyone happen to know how to set gamma in kde?
Should it be 1.0 or 1.2 or 1.8? Or does it not matter.

I see no need to comment out those lines.

For reference, here is how my XF86Config-4 looks like: http://dastrike.dyndns.org/misc/XF86Config-4.txt

And I don't know really regarding the gamma.

For some reason I still can't get above 60hz even though I changed it to 30-95 and 50-160. What program do you use to change the resolution. I was just using display in kde. It doesn't seem to take what I put in the x86config file.

bump, anyone know how to raise the 60hz? I can't find a way to raise it even if I do set it higher in the x86config file......

Thanks
