I have the 2.6.5 kernel and debian sarge testing. I can't seem to find an easy way to install the nvidia drivers 5336. I tried it using their installer, but it says I need to give it the path to the kernel with --kernel-source-path, but I am not sure where the kernel is held.
I also would try apt-get install nvidia-kernel-source, but there is no package for it yet. How do I install these?
Thanks, I was missing the headers, the drivers are installed now though.
Although, I still can not get above 60 Hz, I know I can too because I have with other distros. What do i have to add or change in the x86config file to get above 60hz?
Look up the specs for your monitor, the vertical refresh and horizontal sync value intervals are mentioned there. Then update the values in your X configuration by any means you find convenient.
For some reason I still can't get above 60hz even though I changed it to 30-95 and 50-160. What program do you use to change the resolution. I was just using display in kde. It doesn't seem to take what I put in the x86config file.
