It says:

Quote:
debian:~# apt-get install kde
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
kde is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 7 not upgraded.

What is your problem? Get into KDE?

In the login screen choose "Session" menu and then choose "KDE" - you'll login with KDE desktop.

If you chose desktop in the installation options it's installed by default.

I feel stupid about asking such a question.

Actually, my problem was I wasn't able to get to KDE, not the welcome screen.
When I used to type kdm at the shell, nothing used to happen.

So I was a bit worried, and posted. But now everything is workinig fine.

Thanks for the help anyways.
