Installing JAVA SDK and Eclipse Developing Environment for testing

Hi, I am using Debian etch with kernel 2.6.15(GNOME). I would like to install JAVA SDK and the eclipse Devlopment environment for my debian testing distro.

What is the most convenient way to do this?

download the file 'j2sdk-1_4_2_11-linux-i586.bin' from the official java site.

apt-get install java-package
# download j2*.bin file from java.com
make-jpkg <j2*.bin>
dpkg -i *.deb
