Installing ipw2200 driver

I tried to locate a driver for my intel ipw2200 wireless card for kernel 2.4.27, but could not get any. I installed the ipw2200-source package and tried to make modules but failed (ipw2200.h:54:29: linux/workqueue.h: No such file or directory). i found several howto but all for kernel 2.6-x. Does any body know what to do to get it working under kernel 2.4.27 or it is a hopeless case?

Is the soure build of your current running kernel placed in /usr/src or linked there to another location?

In order to use the IPW2200 driver you will need the following:
Linux (of course) with a 2.6.4+ kernel [link]. See the INSTALL document for information on specific options required to be enabled in the kernel.

Yes. I have the kernel source and configured well. The make did not complain from that. I saw some steps showing that it did enter in the source folder.

Yes, I know that it requires a kernel 2.6.4+. But I am trying to install it in kernel 2.4.27. I actually got the driver from a link at the bottom of http://ipw2200.sf.net: page.

Any more suggessions?
